eyes can reach. It can be described as semi-solid, sticky material that black
or grey. One of the most common uses of asphalt is in the construction of roads
and pavements. It is a smooth and durable material that can withstand a lot of

concrete bridges have asphalt layering on the top. It helps keep the weight of

experience wear and tear under uneven pressure. Moreover, asphalt also helps in
protecting the steel and concrete structures from de-icing salts. However, a
bridge made up of asphalt generally comes with four layers to make the whole
structure robust, namely, sealing or the bonding layer, waterproofing layer,
protecting layer, and surface layer. It is this knowledge that transcends into
years of experience of bridge construction.
